    More gate construction ongoing

Drivers are being urged by base officials to plan for delays and to avoid the gate during non-rush-hour periods until the work is done. The back gate is the closest entryway to the commissary and main exchange.

All drivers must follow MPs’ directions at all times.

From 5 to 9 a.m. on weekdays, traffic at the back gate will be restricted to inbound traffic only. All outbound traffic will be directed to the main gate.

From 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, traffic will be limited to outbound traffic only. All inbound traffic will be directed to the main gate.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. during the week, and during all weekends and holidays, gate sentries will alternate one-way traffic for inbound and outbound traffic. It is during these times officials expect delays to be at their worst, so they are recommending drivers use the main gate during those times.

As usual, the back gate is closed to all traffic from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

The Quantico Sentry will post updates here as they become available and online at www.quantico.usmc.mil.
