Gordon received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in connection with combat operations against the enemy while serving as the Executive Officer, 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Wing Support Group 27, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) from Feb. 1 to Aug. 27, 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
