KG High School Royal Regiment Nightat the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs!
The King George High School Royal Regiment Marching Band is selling tickets for the Aug. 9 Maryland Blue Crabs game in La Plata. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by fireworks. Tickets are $13, with all proceeds benefiting the marching band. To order tickets, call (540) 644-6275 and leave your name, phone number and number of tickets needed. Ticket requests are due by Wed., July 9. Tickets will be delivered in mid-July & money is due when tickets are delivered.
KG High School NJROTCHolds Barbecue Fundraiser
The King George High School NJROTC will hold a barbecue fundraiser on Sat., July 12 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 89 at the intersection of Rt. 206 and Indiantown Road. Food is available for dine in or carry out. Meals include BBQ pork sandwich, macaroni & cheese, green beans and cole slaw. Advance tickets are $6.00, or $7.00 at the door. King George Food Bank Needs Your Help!
The King George Food Bank is facing great need and is running very low! The food bank is need of grocery store gift cards, as well as non-perishable foods, such as boxed foods and canned goods. Donations are being taken at the EXIT Realty Office, 7947 Kings Highway, next to the King George Post Office. Donation hours are Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sat., 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Check donations should be made payable to KG Social Services. Thank you for supporting the community in this time of need!

Sotterley Plantation PlansIndependence Day Event
Historic Sotterley Plantation will hold an Independence Day Celebration Concert on Sun., July 6 from 1 – 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per vehicle, and Sotterley Members and all U.S. Military (with valid ID) are FREE! Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to front lawn and enjoy the world renowned Jeffrey Silberschlag and the Chesapeake Orchestra Brass Quintet. The concert is part of the St. Mary’s College River concert Series and will feature a Brown Bag Auction with fun items for the entire family! The event will also feature a silent auction including a baseball signed by former homerun king Hank Aaron. Food from Old Timers, ice cream from Brusters, beer, wine and cold drinks will be available for purchase. Children’s activities included at no cost.
