Youth Scoop is a new section of the Standard created by Child and Youth Services members. Items featured will include articles, poems, comics, and more.

The goal of this section is to promote Fort Detrick’s youth by featuring their writing.

Children’s art show

There will be a children’s art show July 17 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the NCI Cafe conference room. There will be a bake sale, lemonade stand and a silent auction.

Adopt-A-School Volunteer

CYS is looking for volunteers to help with homework, learn English as a second language and give presentations at Whittier Elementary, West Frederick Middle and Frederick High School.

These schools serve Fort Detrick students who attend CYS programs or live on the installation.

Playgroup

The Family Advocacy Program hosts a childrens’ playgroup every Wednesday and Friday at the GMH Neighborhood Center.
