Anger management
How do you cool down before things heat up? One way is to participate in the Department of Social Work’s six-week Anger Management Group. The group will meet from July 18 to Aug. 22, 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the Borden Pavilion (Bldg. 6), fourth floor, DCI conference room. Learn to manage anger, conflict, emotions, behavior and stress more effectively. Explore the benefits of calming down strategies through deep breathing, meditation and cognitive restructing.     Summerfest 2008
    Walter Reed’s Warrior Transition Brigade’s Family Support Group hosts Summerfest 2008 July 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Mologne House. The event will include food, a live band, face painting, rock wall, moon bounce, dunking booth, kids’ activities, watermelon-eating contest, pony rides, horseshoes, cotton candy, popcorn and more.

    Substance abuse program
    Unit Prevention Leader Certification Training is July 14-18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. UPLs receive 40 hours of instruction in biochemical testing procedures, and prevention of alcohol and other illicit drugs use to become the commander’s subject matter experts within the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP).
