2008 Community Service Program of the Year
Nominations are being solicited for the 2008 Navy Community Service Program of the Year Awards Competition. These awards recognize outstanding command support and involvement in volunteer outreach programs and projects by individual commands in five flagships categories: personal excellence partnerships; health, safety and fitness; Campaign Drug-Free; environmental stewardship; and Project Good Neighbor.
Nomination guidelines are contained in BUPERSINST 1650.12E. Nominations from Navy commands based in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Northern Virginia should be submitted no later than July 21 to the Naval District Washington Community Service Office in building 1 (NDW headquarters), room 1012, on the Washington Navy Yard. Include an E-mail address for the command point of contact for the program being nominated. A selection board will review nominations and select regional winners. Winning programs will be forwarded as the NDW submissions to the Navy-wide 2006 Navy Community Service Program of the Year Awards competition. Only regional coordinators are authorized to submit nominations directly fr national award consideration.
Commands participating in multiple community service categories should submit separate nominations for each flagship category to be considered. Multiple category submitters are eligible to compete for the USS Bainbridge Award. Registering to vote and requesting a ballot
The national general election is less than five months away. If you have not done so already, all members of the U.S. Uniformed Services and their family members, and citizens residing outside the U.S., should request a ballot by completing and submitting a registration and ballot request, using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), SF-76, as soon as possible.

MyBiz is a Web-based self-service human resources module that allows Department of Navy appropriated fund employees to access information from their official personnel records. Employees are strongly encouraged to review the Defense civilian personnel data system (DCPDS) self-tutorials for MyBiz at www.cpms.osd.mil⁄ regmod⁄selfservice⁄selfservice.html prior to establishing a password or accessing their MyBiz account. The MyBiz login site is https:⁄⁄cpps.donhr.navy.mil:8007.
When you log into MYBIZ for the first time you will be prompted to provide a user ID and a password. My Biz allows employees access to view information from their official personnel records including appointment, position, personal, salary, benefits, awards and bonuses, and performance. In addition, employees may update their telephone number and email address, disability codes, race and national origin and foreign language proficiency online with My Biz.
