5th Annual Navy 5 Miler

Naval District Washington is hosting the 5th Annual Navy 5-Miler on Sept. 28, at West Potomac Park, Washington. The race is open to the public and is a USATF-certified course. Gladys Knight at Wolf Trap

Civilian MWR is giving you a chance to see Motown icon and R&B legend Gladys Knight, July 19, 8 p.m. at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va. Tickets are $25, limited to two per person, and are on sale now at the ITT centers at Washington Navy Yard, building 22 and NSF Anacostia, building 419. No transportation is provided. Captain’s Cup Bowling Tournament

Captain’s Cup bowling begins July 16 and registration deadline is July 14. Tournament will be held at Potomac Lanes on Bolling Air Force Base at 10:30 a.m. Cost is FREE for active duty, $5 for civilians and $7 for contractors. Hawaiian Luau at Waikiki Beach! (We really mean the Anacostia River)

One of the best events of the year is back! The Hawaiian Luau at the WNY Catering and Conference Center, 21 August, from 1600-1900, will feature music, prizes, giveaways, a Hawaiian-style cookout, fire dancing show, Hawaiian t-shirt contest, limbo contest, and more! Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and may be purchased at any NSAW ITT⁄Fitness Center. Bring your office, bring your kids, bring your best hula-dancing moves! CMWR Las Vegas trip

Come join Civilian MWR for a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 14 to 17. The trip includes staying at the Mirage Hotel and Resort. There will be free pick-up service to and from the airport in Las Vegas. The cost is $685 per person based on double occupancy and is limited to two per person. Tickets are on sale now at the ITT centers at Washington Navy Yard, building 22 and NSF Anacostia, building 419. The trip must be paid in full by Oct. 31. There are no refunds. Washington Nationals Tickets

Purchase your tickets now at any ITT Office for all Washington Nationals home games! Four tickets are available for each game (must be purchased as a pair). Seats are located in section 105 (left field home run territory), row F, seats 17-20 and are $26.75 each. DOD personnel are eligible to park at the WNY on game days. Be sure to stop by Mordecai Booth's Public House before heading over to the game. Mordecai’s is open two hours before game time Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Pavilion and Sports Complex rentals

For your next command picnic or get together, rent the pavilions, gazebo or softball fields at the Anacostia Sports Complex. Rental fees are:

pavilions: $68
gazebo: $43
softball field: $25
softball field with pavilion: $15
cleaning deposit: $50

All reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Rental fee and cleaning deposit must be paid in full at time of reservation. Please note that there is no electricity at any of the pavilions, gazebo or softball fields. Contact (202) 685-0895 for more information.

Spirit of Baltimore July 4 cruise

Join CMWR for a dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Baltimore, July 4. Buses leave WNY building 166 at 4:30 p.m., boarding is 6:30 and the cruise goes from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets on sale now for $85 per person, limit of six tickets. Price includes a narrated riverfront tour, full dinner buffet, DJ, show, dancing and an unforgettable fireworks show. Vehicle Storage

Need somewhere to store your vehicle? Register in building 419, NSF Anacostia fitness center. Storage lot is secure and accommodates privately owned vehicles in spots less than 25’ and spots over 25’. Regardless of the size of your vehicle, prices are: $1.50⁄foot⁄month. All customers are required to sign a storage contract, provide copy of current registration and proof of liability insurance. Spirit of Philadelphia and Atlantic City

Join CMWR for a lunch cruise aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia, Aug. 30. Buses leave WNY building 166 parking lot at 7 a.m. Following the cruise, buses will take you to Atlantic City for about six hours, and return to the Yard at 12:30 a.m. Tickets on sale now for $59 per person, limit of five tickets.
